These Terms of Use cover the security and use of all Across the Page Courses online systems and information.
Definitions and Scope
These Terms of Use apply to all Across the Page Courses users including Administrators, students, parents, and any other registered account holders who access our online systems and information (referred to in this document as “individuals”).
Policies
Computer Access Control
Access to the Across the Page Courses online systems is controlled by the use of user accounts (usernames and passwords). All usernames and passwords are to be uniquely assigned to named individuals and consequently, individuals are accountable for all actions on the Across the Page Courses systems through their accounts. Individuals must not:
- Allow anyone else to use their username and password on any Across the Page Courses system.
- Leave their user accounts logged in at an unattended and unlocked computer.
- Use someone else’s username and password to access Across the Page Courses’ online systems.
- Leave their password unprotected.
- Perform any unauthorized changes to Across the Page Courses’ online systems or information.
- Attempt to access data that they are not authorized to use or access.
- Give or transfer Across the Page Courses data or copyrighted course material to any other person, organization or Internet site outside the scope of communicating with licensed students in an Across the Page Courses course.
Responsible Use of Online Systems and Information
Across the Page Courses online classes are intended for educational and personal use. All individuals are accountable for their actions within Across the Page Courses’ online systems. Individuals must not:
- Use the online system, discussions, or email for the purposes of harassment or abuse.
- Use profanity, obscenities, or derogatory remarks in communications or file sharing.
- Access, download, send or receive any data (including images), which Across the Page Courses considers offensive in any way, including sexually explicit, discriminatory, defamatory or libelous material.
- Use the online system, discussions or email to gamble in any form.
- Use the email or messaging systems in a way that could affect its reliability or effectiveness, for example distributing chain letters or spam.
- Make official commitments through the internet or email on behalf of Across the Page Courses unless authorized to do so.
- Download copyrighted material such as handouts and video files (not an exhaustive list) without appropriate approval or specific course instructions to do so.
- In any way infringe any copyright, database rights, trademarks or other intellectual property.
Discussion Content
- Course discussion forums, and content posted on them by students, become the property of Across the Page Courses.
- Access to course discussion forums is limited to those enrolled in the course. It must not be shared outside this context, for example by copying and posting another student’s comment to a separate online setting or written work.
Enforcement
Across the Page Courses reserves the right to immediately purge all content found in violation of our Terms of Use without notice. Across the Page Courses further reserves the right to disable and/or purge user accounts found to be in violation of our Terms of Use without notice. No refunds will be issued for accounts or content removed for Terms of Use violations.
