In this literature course on Perelandra, we dig into the second novel in C.S. Lewis’s celebrated science fantasy trilogy. Set a few years after the action of Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra accompanies Ransom to Venus for purposes that only gradually become clear to him and his readers. Why has he been sent? What will be required of him this time? And how is an ordinary human like Ransom necessary in a battle between good and evil played out on a cosmic scale?
This course includes videos, written discussion boards, a reading journal and a final essay.
